The most common Homeownership Programs are Down Payment Assistance, Affordable 1st Mortgages, and Mortgage Credit Certificate.
Down Payment Assistance Program is funded by Non-profit, government, or Employer Assisted Housing (EAH) for "first-time homebuyer" who hasn't owned a home in 3 years. Affordable 1st Mortgages and Mortgage Credit Certificate work in conjunction with the Down Payment Programs to reduce interest rate and provide tax credit.
